Pre-College Engineering and Science Summer Academy Closing Ceremony

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Professors James Momoh and Peter Bofah successfully concluded their annual Pre-College Engineering and Science (PCES) Summer Residential Academy last Friday. Dr. Momoh's team included mentors from among CEA students and EECS graduates.

PCES is a six-week long summer outreach and residential program for high school students selected nationally and internationally. The PCES curriculum uses system engineering concepts in solving energy and power system problems.

Four teams of students presented their final projects, among which was the "Solar Smart Bag", a bag that can perform several smart functions such as temperature maintenance, global positioning and portable smart phone charging.

Dr. Momoh presented the students with certificates for their high achievements. Each student was commended by Dr. Momoh on their individual achievements.

Former EECS faculty members also joined the ceremony, sharing praise and wisdom. The ceremony was not only a display of impressive projects, but also one of bonding and comradery.

We wish all of our 2018 PCES graduates the best of luck in all their future endeavors!
